Blink
Open
your eyes on the open sand.
Now look
to your left, and look to your right, and look ahead a little (between your oversized
legs), and maybe even look upwards (lifting your shoulders off the sand) (leaning your head back into the sand). In twelve directions the sand rises steep.
The sand
is (orange is) the belly of a mare in heat, but the open top, way up where, is
(blue is) water on the verge of falling into the sand, of falling on your
head. It moved, so shut you eyes.
And
peek, and watch it ebb.
